Brian Nisbet (1959-2015) started writing with the Huntly Writers and then studied with Jenny Lewis and Jane Draycot at Oxford University in a diploma course. He wrote the text for a BBC commissioned work of contemporary music ‘Lullaby’ by Torbjorn Hultmark, broadcast on BBC Radio 3. Brian had poems selected for publication by The Sentinel, Pushing Out The Boat, Poetry South, The Trombonist and Spirit of the Deveron. He was commended in the Mervyn Peake Award and settings of three poems were performed at The Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Brian appeared reading his work alongside the eminent poet RV Bailey in The Turning Wheel, and at the Oxford Fringe Literary Festival. His first collection of poems entitled 'Now You Know' was published in 2015 shortly before his death.
